I'm Rob, the founder of Troubleshoot IT.
The idea for Troubleshoot IT grew from helping people close to me, particularly my ageing parents and my sister, who lives with disability.
I saw how quickly everyday technology was changing and how frustrating it could become when something stopped working, an account needed setting up, or a new device didn't make sense.
Often, the problem wasn't that someone couldn't use technology. They simply needed someone willing to sit down, listen and explain what was happening without rushing them.
That's what shaped Troubleshoot IT. I don't just want to fix the immediate problem and leave. Where possible, I'll explain what I'm doing and show you how to do it yourself next time.
Technology changes quickly. Asking for help is part of learning, and every question is worth asking.
Having someone come into your home to help with technology is personal.
Your computer, phone or tablet can contain photos, messages, financial information and other parts of your private life. That's why privacy, respect and professionalism are an important part of every Troubleshoot IT visit.
I'll explain what I'm doing, ask before accessing information or making important changes, and treat your home, devices and personal information with respect.
We'll work at your pace and give you time to ask questions.
We'll explain what we're doing without unnecessary technical language.
Your devices, information and home will always be treated with respect.
Where possible, we'll show you how things work so you feel more confident next time.
We'll explain your options without pressure to buy things you don't need.
If you need another hand after a session, you're welcome to get in touch.
